Christmas Revels 2013 at Saunders Theater
This year the folk music and tales came from northern Spain and focused on stories and music of the Camino de Santiago pilgrim way. The Revels mark the winter solstice and celebrate folk traditions from around world at the turning of the year. The concerts are community exercises in singing and dancing with familiar dramatic rituals and songs set within folk traditions from the region selected for that year. Every show ends with a recitation of Susan Cooper’s The Shortest Day, written for the Cambridge Revels.
