Picasso, Miro, Dali and Messi in Barcelona

Nate and Kirsten

We walked all over Barcelona last week, sat in the great old cathedrals,  wandered around Sagrada Familia and the Monastery of Monserratt. Between these Catholic sites we filled up on the work of Barcelona artists: Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, and Salvador Dali.

I’ve been thinking of all of it in these days: Roman Catholic faith asserted with Catalan pride, artistic genius evolving in the warmth of the Mediterranean; a city made for walking, for street culture and for motorcycles;  the colors of FC Barcelona and the face of Lionel Messi, the greatest player in the world, all over the place.
